Yes, they're pricey, but no other choice. (Try hunting an independent house in a prime locality [ within 5-10 kms of city center]). Of course there are cheaper builders, but their constructions are mostsly built with hobbits, and not humans, in mind. Most of the buyers, of course, happen to be NRI dudes like us. Yes, there are also some insanely costly projects like 6 crores apartments with Bionic security (stuff I heard from some recent house hunters).
